Vosa is a voice-first local discovery app. We collect only the data needed to understand your request, return sourced place recommendations, keep the service secure, and improve reliability.

Voice and transcripts

When you hold the microphone, audio streams directly from the iOS app to Deepgram for real-time transcription. Vosa's backend receives the final text transcript, not raw audio bytes. We use the transcript to retrieve, validate, and synthesize recommendations for your request.

Location

If you allow location access, Vosa uses your approximate current position to choose the right city and improve nearby results. We do not use background location.

Accounts and preferences

If you sign in, Vosa stores account identifiers from Clerk, saved taste signals, aggregate feedback, and scrubbed query memory so recommendations can improve over time. Raw transcripts are scrubbed before preference memory is stored.

Analytics and diagnostics

Vosa uses PostHog for product telemetry and Sentry for crash diagnostics. Telemetry is designed around event names, counts, timing, and coarse status fields rather than raw voice text.

Third-party services

Vosa uses service providers including Clerk, Deepgram, PostHog, Sentry, Google Places, Supabase, Upstash Redis, Inngest, Vercel, Voyage, and Anthropic through Vercel AI Gateway. These providers process data only as needed to operate the app.

Your choices

You can use Vosa anonymously with a free daily quota. Signed-in users can clear preference history or delete Vosa-owned account data from Settings. Contact privacy@thevosa.com for privacy requests.
